Warner Bros. continues to prepare audiences around the world for the big theatrical release of Joker: Folie à Deux.
The sequel features the return of Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck/Joker, and the debut of Lady Gaga like Harley Quinn, who in this Joker-verse of Todd Phillipsto your incarnation of the popular character is known as Lee.
Ahead of its release in theaters in October, the studio shared through the specialized film site IMDb, a look at a scene from this new installment, in which we see Lee talking to Arthur in Arkham Asylum – where they are both as patients – to tell her that they are going to let her go home, because they believe that he is a bad influence on her, which leaves Arthur devastated.
For Lee, it's good news, because it means he'll be able to attend the Joker's trial and see him every day until he's released, and then “we're going to build a mountain,” Lee assures Arthur.
While painting his face to make him look like “the real” Joker, Lee tells him that there are only the two of them now.

The sequel It will have musical elements and is set in Arkham Asylumwhich is where the first movie ends after Arthur Fleck (Phoenix) was sent there. The acclaimed JOKER (2019) by Phillips follows Arthur Fleck and his journey to becoming the crime clown, serving as the iconic villain's origin story, unfolding its plot in 1980s Gotham City.
Phillips returns as co-writer and director. He writes the script together with Scott Silverhis coguionist in Joker (2019).
In addition to Phoenix and Gaga, the main cast includes Zazie Beetz reprising her role as Sophie Dumond, with the new additions of Catherine Keener (Get Out, The 40 Year Old Virgin), Brendan Gleeson (In Bruges, Harry Potter), Jacob Lofland (Mud), y Harry Lawtey (Industry).
The Motion Picture Association (MPA) awarded Joker 2 the Rated R by:
“Some strong violence, constant language, some sexuality and brief full nudity.”
This is the same rating as the original movie, Joker (2019), although for different reasons: “strong bloody violence, disturbing behavior, language and brief sexual images.”
Warner Bros. releases Joker: Folie à Deux in theaters October 4, 2024.
