The series Pride and Prejudice of Netflix He has found his Elizabeth Bennet and Mrs. Bennet with the signings of Emma Corrin (The Crown, Deadpool & Wolverine) y Olivia Colman (The Favourite, The Crown), in charge of the respective roles.
The actresses are added to Jack Lowden (Slow Horses), recently announced as Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy this week.
The six -party miniseries will be a faithful adaptation of Jane Austen's iconic novel, written by Dolly Alderton (Everything I Know About Love), and directed by Euros Lyn (Heartstopper).
It will enter production in the United Kingdom this year.
The press release explains (via variety):
“Dolly will give life to Jane Austen's iconic story for the public who appreciates her, while inspiring a new generation to fall in love with Austen for the first time.”
Corrin adds to the statements:
“Interpreting Elizabeth Bennet is a unique opportunity in life. Being able to give life to this iconic character, together with Olivia and Jack, with Dolly's phenomenal scripts, is a real honor. I am looking forward to a new generation to fall in love with this story again.”
Corrin will debut as an executive producer with the miniseries, along with Alderton, Lyn, Laura Lankester, Will Johnston and Louise Mutter. The producer is Lisa Osborne.
Lookout Point (Gentleman Jack) is the producing company.
It is the first adaptation of Austen's literary material in Netflix, from the feature film Persuasion (2022), starring Dakota Johnson.
Alderton adds to emotions saying:

Pride and prejudice It is a novel about love and social class. Written by Austen in the early nineteenth century, it tells the story of Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy, who finally fall in love but must overcome various obstacles.
It has been adapted on numerous occasions, including the iconic 2005 film starring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen. In 1995 there was another adaptation starring Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle, by BBC.
