The plot follows four roommates in their first year at the prestigious Essex College in New England. The second season begins with the students returning after fall break and facing the challenges that were presented to them at the end of the first season, while also facing their next semester full of new faces, parties, and hardships.
Kaling executive produces alongside Noble, who serves as showrunner, and Howard Klein. Kaling's company, Kaling International, produces the series alongside 3 Arts Entertainment and Warner Bros. Television.
