In the same way, more will be explored about the mysterious people of Venus, Oregon, and the possible origins of the masked villains and the reasons behind why they do what they do.

Official synopsis:

“The strangers have returned, more brutal and implacable than ever. Upon discovering that one of their victims, Maya (Madelaine Petsch), is still alive, return to finish what they started. Without any place where to escape or who to trust, Maya must survive another chapter of terror while strangers, driven by a foolish and incessant purpose, chase her, more than will path.”

The rest of the cast includes Gabriel Basso (Juror No. 2), Rachel Shenton (Switched at Birth), y Mother Horvarth (The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power).

The first installment of the trilogy was released in cinemas in May 2024, and although it did not echo much between critics and genre fans, it had a good enough performance for Lionsgate ($ 35.2 MDD at the national box office, $ 48.1 MDD at the global box office). The study then decided to continue with the rest of the films of the trilogy, which is incidentally, Harlin rolled subsequentlythat is, the three films were filmed one after another.

To recapitulate, in the first film, Maya and Ryan are forced to spend the night in an isolated Airbnb, after their car suffers a breakdown, where they are terrified from dusk until dawn by three strange masked. From there, Lionsgate plans to expand the history of new and unexpected ways with its sequelaeas we could see in the teaser trailer of Chapter 2 released last October, and this first complete trailer.

The script of the trilogy was co -written by Alan R. Cohen y Alan Freedland (The Freak Brothers, Due Date).

Harlin previously complemented on the projects:

“Sin pretend to trivialize it or explain it too much, the second and third films are an exploration of where it arose [todo]. More than anything, they are the exploration of what could happen to a person, in this case, a young woman, who is a victim of such meaningless violence. What effect does that have on you mentally and physically, and what is your trip after that? It is an exploration of that more than anything. And I think we will answer many of the questions that fans of the original have and then we will go much further. At the end of the third movie, there are really more questions than answers.

The trilogy was launched in September 2022. It is based on the original 2008 cult film by Bryan Bertino, of which Harlin has confessed to being a fan.

The shootings were made in Slovakia.

Courtney Solomon, Mark Canton, Christopher Milburn, Gary Raskin, Charlie Dombck and Alastair Birlingham are the producers of the trilogy, with Andrei Boncea, Dorothy Canton, and Roy Lee as executive producers.

The Strangers: Chapter 2 He plans his Cinema premiere for September 26, 2025.
