The third season of The White Lotus will be released on HBO and the streamer MAX in February 2025 (via Variety).
The plot will be set in Thailand and will focus on a multi-generational group that includes a patriarch, a corporate executive, an actress, a pair of mothers, including a country club wife, a misfit, and a yogi.
The rest of the exact details remain a secret at some White Lotus resort.
The cast of the third season will have the return of Natasha Rothwell as Belinda Lindsey, a role she played in the first season for which she was nominated for an Emmy. We met Belinda as the manager of the resort's spa in Hawaii, where she formed a friendship with the guest, Tanya McQuoid (Jennifer Coolidge), who in turn promised to make a significant investment so that Belinda could open her own spa center.
Rothwell is accompanied by a new group of actors: Michelle Monaghan (Gone Baby Gone), Parker Posey (The Staircase), Jason Isaacs (The Death of Stalin), Tayme Thapthimthong (Farang), Carrie Coon (The Gilded Age), Leslie Bibb (Iron Man), Dom Hetrakul (The Outrage), Christian Friedel, Morgana O'Reilly, Lake Patravadi, Shalini Peiris, Miloš Biković, Walton Goggins (The Righteous Gemstones), Aimee Lou Wood (Sex Education), Patrick Schwarzenegger (The Staircase), Sarah Catherine Hook (The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It), Sam Nivola (Maestro), Francesca Corney (The Buccaneers), Nicholas Duvernay (Tyler Perry’s Assisted Living), y Arnas Fedaravičius (The Last Kingdom).
White is the creator, screenwriter and director of The White Lotus. He is also the executive producer along with David Bernad and Mark Kamine. White wrote and directed the entire second season.
Filming takes place in Ko Samui, Phuket, and in Bangkok. For this new season, HBO has partnered with the Tourism Authority of Thailand to support filming and promotion.
Originally planned to premiere in 2024, season 3 will be released in 2025 following delays due to strikes.
ON THE WHITE LOTUS
The first season (premiering in July 2021) followed a group of privileged guests who annoy the luxury resort's manager and spa manager while dealing with a series of personal issues (filming took place at the Four Seasons Resort Maui of Wailea). The second season was filmed in Italy. Both seasons were filmed in Four Seasons hotels, so it should not surprise us that it will later be announced that the third season will be filmed in this luxurious resort in Thailand. The Four Seasons Thailand is located in Bangkok, Chian Mai, Koh Samui and the Golden Triangle (city, countryside, jungle and beach).
The first season earned 20 Emmy Award nominations and 10 wins. The second season was nominated for 23 Emmys.
