Under that premise, Corazón Films reveals the official trailer for the psychological action thriller Dead of Winter de Vertical Entertainment.
The film arrived in American theaters at the end of September, and is preparing the audience for its arrival in Latin American theaters, under the title Death in winter.
The Oscar winner, Emma Thompson (Good Luck to You, Leo Grande) leads the main cast, as a lonely woman living in snowy Minnesota who ends up in a confrontation with a couple who have taken a young woman hostage.
They accompany him in the cast Judy Greer (The Long Walk), Marc Menchaca (Companion), Laurel Marsden (The Pope’s Exorcist), Gaia Wise (A Walk in the Woods), Cuan Hosty-Blaney, Dalton Lee, Paul Hamilton, Lloyd Hutchinsony Brian F. O’Byrne.
OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS:
A grieving widow stops at a remote cabin after getting lost on the rural roads of Minnesota in the dead of winter. She soon finds herself embroiled in a desperate fight for survival as she confronts a murderous couple who are holding a young woman hostage.
Brian Kirk (21 Bridges, The Day of the Jackal) directs the feature film with a script by Dalton Lee y Nicholas Jacobson-Larson.
Regarding his most recent project, Kirk stated in a press release:
“The Dead of Winter is a merciless thriller, set in an epic wilderness with a beautiful love story at its heart. Emma Thompson gives a stunning performance, unlike anything she has ever done before. The film has been a passion project for all of us, and we are delighted to have collaborated with Vertical, who believe, as strongly as we do, that this film will last with audiences, long after they leave the cinema.”
The film is produced by Jon Berg, Greg Silverman, Jonas Katzenstein and Maximilian Leo, with Thompson serving as executive producer, alongside Gideon Yu, Chris Bosco, Elizabeth A. Bell, Oana Iancu, Jonathan Saubach, Klaus Dohle, Michael Rothstein and Samuel Hall.
Additional talent includes director of photography Christopher Ross (Shogun), to the production designer David Hindle (Matilda: The Musical), to the editor Tim Murrell (Monkey Man) and the costume designer Natalie Humphries (The Day of the Jackal).
The distributor has not yet announced the release date in Mexico, but has already shared the first trailer and official art available below.
