Two years after the premiere of the acclaimed Baby Reindeerits creator and protagonist, Richard Gaddreturns with a new miniseries.
It is about Half Manan original miniseries HBO Maxco-starring Gadd y Jamie Bell (Shining Girlssequel series Peaky Blinders), which has just started its marketing campaign with the launch of a first official trailer.
In Half ManGadd plays Ruben, while Bell plays Niall, Ruben's estranged brother. The story begins when Ruben arrives at Niall's wedding, but what should be a joyous occasion turns somber. Gadd's character comes off as tense, uncomfortable and out of sorts. A violent incident soon breaks out, transporting the story back to the 1980s and into the present day.
Gadd announced that Ruben and Niall are not blood brothers, however, they grew up close.
And since the plot will move between the past and the present, we will see the brothers at different stages of their lives.
Mitchell Robertson y Stuart Campbell They will give life to the young versions of Ruben and Niall, respectively. The cast also includes His name is McIntosh (The Chemistry of Death) as Lori, Niall's mother, and Marianne McIvor (Lockerbie) as Maura, Ruben's mother.
The trailer focuses on the brothers' interaction in different timelines, alternating between Niall and Ruben as children and their growth into adulthood. Specifically, it begins with Ruben standing up to say a few words at Niall's wedding, while the latter clearly fears what is about to happen.
Half Man will explore themes such as brotherhood, sex, and violence.
Gadd is the writer and executive producer of the series. With Alexandra Brodsky (Rivals, Somewhere Boy) y Eshref Reybrouck (The City is Ours) as directors.
The producer is Wendy Griffin. Other executive producers include Sophie Gardiner, Tally Garner, Gaynor Holmes, Anna O'Malley, Morven Reid, Lindsay Salt, and Gavin Smith.
