The title “No Future” alone heralds a thoroughly dystopian final mood. Leipzig is concerned about the fact that the Institute for the Future will soon be closing. Over the next few weeks, the “No Future” series will provide a glimpse of what will be missing. Because the changing Leipzig sound has also found a place at the IfZ – whether technoid, trancy, groovy or bouncy. The line-up shows this cross-section of sounds and artists who once called Leipzig their home or now do, with typical sounds from before and after Covid – but connected by the emotionality that resonates in the sets. At the same time, “No Future” speaks out against the hopelessness of the Leipzig club scene. The artists are staying, will continue to enrich the Leipzig scene and, at best, create new spaces.
