Ingredients
2 cups of wheat flour
1 1/2 cup sugar
3 eggs
1 cup of milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tea spoons of baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
A bit of salt
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a cake tin with butter and flour or use parchment paper on the bottom of the tin.
- In a large bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar until the mixture is fluffy and pale.
- Add the oil and milk to the egg and sugar mixture and mix well.
If desired, add vanilla extract at this time. - Sift the flour, baking powder and salt over the liquid mixture.
Mix gently until the batter is smooth, taking care not to overmix (this can make the cake denser). - Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
- Place in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 30-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the tin for a few minutes before unmolding.
Then let it cool completely on a wire rack.
