Kyra Sedgwick y Kevin Bacon They will join forces in front of and behind the cameras in a new horror project co-starring and co-directed by both, for which they want to cast their daughter in another of the leading roles, Bacon Sauce.
The young actress is recognized for her leading role in the horror hit Smile by Parker Finn, where she played a therapist whose patient commits suicide during one of her sessions, thus passing on to her a demonic identity that stalks her victims until it possesses and kills them.
In a detailed Variety interview with Sedgwick, the actress told the outlet that she is currently developing the as-yet-untitled horror project for her production company Big Swing. And while plans are for Sedgwick and Bacon to co-direct, that might not be so easy due to the Directors Guild of America (DGA).
Sedgwick explained to the outlet:
“It's very difficult to get dual directing credits. If you promise the DGA that you'll only direct together for the rest of your lives, then they're more inclined to do it. But if not, they won't do it.”
She and Bacon, who have been married for 35 years, have a deal: Whoever does the prep work gets the credit:
“We'll figure it out. But I'm very strategic. I wonder if more people will watch this if it's a Kevin Bacon movie than a Kyra Sedgwick movie.”
Both are well versed in the horror genre; Sedgwick starred The Possession (2012), while Bacon has been part of projects such as Friday the 13th, Tremors, You Should Have Left, They/Them, Leave the World Behindand the next one to be released, MaXXXine.
As for films co-starring both, we have Murder in the First (1995), The Woodsman (2004), Cavedweller (2004), Cop Car (2014), and more recently Connescencewhich has just finished filming in recent weeks.
