Much of the press agrees that Romulus It is one of the best installments of the saga Alienand the best since the sequel Aliens (1986) by James Cameron.

Below is a compilation of some of the early reactions on X/Twitter:

Jazz Tangcay de Variety:

This is easily one of the best films in the franchise. Fede Alvarez does not disappoint. Incredible sound design and world building. The practical effects are so good that the movie gave me nightmares.”

Germain Lussier of Gizmodo:

“It's a rollercoaster of madness that runs through the previous six 'Alien' films, using fragments from all of them to tell a focused, mostly stand-alone story, full of glorious gore and scares. It gets better as it goes along and ends with a spectacularly spectacular third act.

Courtney Howard, film critic:

It's twisted, gripping and wonderfully dark. It offers innovative, intelligent and clever material, and subtly touches on the greatest hits. Cailee Spaeny and David Jonsson dominate. This is great!

Tessa Smith from Mama Geek:

It pays perfect homage to the original, using practical effects wherever possible.. This works so well that the CGI stands out when it is used. It is slow at first, but man, once it gets going, it will keep you on the edge of your seat until the end!

Alien: Romulus It is a standalone sequel that takes place between the events of Alien (1979) y Aliens (1986).

It stars Cailee Spaeny (Civil War, Priscilla, Mare of Easttown), Isabela Merced (Tansformers: The Last Knight, Instant Family), Archie Renaux (Upgraded, The Other Zoey), David Johnson (Industry), Spike Fearn (Aftersun), y Aileen Wu.

The plot centers on a group of young space colonists, led by Rain (Spaeny), who accept a mission to rescue an abandoned space station as their ticket out of their impoverished planet. What they don't know is that the space station is home to the villainous creature better known to all fans of the series as Xenomorfo.

An important fact about this new film is that unlike the other installments that focused on adults in corporate, military and scientific roles, this ninth installment of the franchise will focus on a group of young people.
