Ryan Murphy e Ian Brennanco-creators of the acclaimed Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, bring to the audience the next chapter of the anthology Monstertitled Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.

The new season will dramatize the story of brothers Lyle and Erik Menendez, who in 1989 were accused of the murder of their parentsin a case that was highly publicized.

The anthology series Monsterwas launched in Netflixafter the audience success of Dahmer. The streamer has launched the development of two more seasons, which will continue “telling the stories of other monstrous figures that have impacted society.” The first of these to see the light of day will be the story of the Menéndez brothers.

The main cast is made up of Javier Bardem (Dune: Part Two, F1), Chloë Sevigny (The Girl From Plainville, American Horror Story), Cooper Cook (They/Them) y Nicholas Chavez (General Hospital).

Bardem and Sevigny will play José and Kitty, the parents of the Menéndez brothers. Koch and Chávez will play Erik and Lyle, respectively.

Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story will trace the ins and outs of the case, which became a major story after the murders of Jose and Kitty in their Beverly Hills home. The brothers were tried twice: the first trial resulted in deadlocked juries and the second ended in convictions for first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Lyle and Erik (who will be played by Nicholas Chavez and Cooper Koch) claimed they had suffered years of abuse from their parents and shot them because they feared for their own lives.

Murphy and Brennan serve as co-creators and writers, and serve as executive producers with Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, David McMillan, Louise Shore and Carl Franklin.

Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story It premieres on September 19, 2024 on Netflix.
