The sequel's story focuses on Lucius (Paul Mescal), grandson of the former Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius and son of the emperor Commodus. Mescal (Aftersun, Normal People, All of Us Strangers) plays the adult version of Lucius, a role that was played by Spencer Treat Clark in the original 2000 installment.
