Gotham Awards 2024 nominations: 'Anora' leads with 4 nominations

The winner of the Palme d'Or at Cannes, Anora by Sean Baker and NEON, leads the Gotham Awards nominations with four nominationsfor Best Film, Best Director, Best Leading Performance (Mikey Madison), and Best Supporting Performance (Yura Borisov).

Anora revolves around a Brooklyn stripper (Madison) who transforms into a modern-day Cinderella when she meets the son of a Russian oligarch. Complications arise when her parents find out and try to annul the marriage.

Challengers by Luca Guadagnino is nominated for Best Film. Nickel Boys by RaMell Ross received nominations for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Breakthrough Performance (Brandon Wilson).

Babygirl, I Saw The TV Glow, Sing Sing, A Different Man, The Brutalist, Janet Planet y Love Lies Bleeding from A24 also received nominations.

movies like María, Emilia Perezy The Substance They were not eligible to be nominated in the Best Picture category, but were eligible in other categories.

The 34th edition of the Gotham Awards will be done live on Monday, December 2, 2024 at the Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.
