We are one month away from the theatrical release of the horror and science fiction comedy Y2Kfrom the independent film studio A24, whose plot is set in the millennium panic of 1999.

disaster comedy plays with the concept of everything that at the time it was said that the turn of the millennium would meanand how it would impact technology that New Year's Eve in 1999, of course, with the plot integrating terrifying and fun elements such as VHS and killer Tamagotchis, to planes crashing and falling from the sky.

Y2K is starring Jaeden Martell (IT, Defending Jacob), Rachel Zegler (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, Snow White), y Julian Dennison (Godzilla vs. Kong, Uproar).

The latest look at the project is an official image showing Martell and Zegler being surprised by something or someone. The image is at the end of this note.

The rest of the cast is made up Lachlan Watson (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), the rapper The Kid Laroithe singer Fred Durst of the band Limp Bizkit, Mason Gooding (Scream VI), Alicia Silverstone (Clueless, Reptile), y Tim Heidecker (Us, Ant-Man and the Wasp).

The film develops its plot at a high school party. in which two third-year students sneak in, and end up having to fight for their lives when an unexpected crisis occurs.

On the last night of 1999, two high school students crash a New Year's Eve party and end up fighting for their lives in this dial-up disaster comedy.

Y2K is directed by Kyle Mooney of Saturday Night Livewith a script co-written with Evan Winter y Jonah Hill as a producer.

Its world premiere took place at the South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas, last March.

A24 premieres Y2K in theaters December 6, 2024.
