After a long wait of two years, the acclaimed western series, Yellowstonefrom the creator Taylor Sheridan and Paramount Network, returns to our screens with the Part 2 of Season 5which marks the end of the series.
The return of Yellowstone It will be without the participation of its protagonist, Kevin Costnerwho left the series after scheduling disagreements with Sheridan.
Luke Grimeswho in the series plays Kayce Dutton, one of the sons of the family patriarch, John Dutton (Costner), talked about what it was like filming Yellowstone without Costner's presence.
In an interview with People, Grimes explained:
“The fact that he didn't come back made me think, 'Well, now we're going to have to land this plane for real.' I think the departure of the patriarch was always going to be part of the story. It was always about that, what are these kids doing? What does this family do when their rock is gone?”
“He's a great presence, man, he's an icon. So not having him around on set felt a little different.. But as always, I mean, we're a big family now. It was just as special and hopefully the fans will be able to connect with the story as much as I did… I think they will.”
Previously, Costner explained to his audience that he would not return to Yellowstone through a publication made on Instagram:
“I want to communicate with you and let you know that after this long year and a half working at Horizon and doing everything necessary, and Thinking about Yellowstone, that beloved series that I love, that I know you love, I just realized that I'm not going to be able to continue with season 5B or in the future. It was something that really changed me. I loved it. And I know they loved it. And I just wanted to let you know that I won't be coming back and that I love the relationship that we've been able to develop, and that I'll see you in the movies.”
Season 5 was divided into two parts. It was these delays in production that prevented Costner's return, since the actor was filming his passion project, Horizon: An American Saga. Costner's film saga will consist of four films in total. Right now it is in production on the third installment.
The series premiered its first season in 2018, following the Dutton family as they attempt to defend their lands in Montana. After four seasons, highly acclaimed by critics and audiences, Yellowstone returned with a fifth season in November 2022.
The cast is made up Costner, Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille, y Brecken Merrill.
All seasons of Yellowstoneincluding Part 1 of the fifth season, are available for streaming on Paramount Plus in Mexico and the rest of Latin America.
The Part 2 of T5 Yellowstone premieres on Sunday, November 10, 2024 on Paramount Network sharp at 8 pm There will be new episodes every Sunday until the series finale on Sunday, December 15.
