It is an end with an announcement – but that doesn't make it less bad and sad: The Duqo announced today that it will close at the end of March.
At the beginning of January, the club bar and MJut successor project on Instagram had already drawn attention to its difficult economic situation. The reasons repeated a development that many clubs are currently – not only in Leipzig – difficult: “High operating costs, rising booking costs and too low sales”.
Well, just three weeks after this post, the announcement will come to the final. The Duqo will still be open by the end of March. After less than a year, the next club location closes and thus also takes an important room for connecting, enjoying music, experience excess and newcomers: discover inside. So shortly after the institute for the future from the institute, this is of course not an easy news for the Leipzig club scene.
With a further concept of club, the Duqo had certainly provided new impulses-we had written about it in our welcome article. With the beer garden and bar concept as well as concert evenings, the crew behind it wanted to create a place that stands out from classic clubs and works without rave. Unfortunately, the start -up capital was obviously enough for this, and unfortunately the current time is everything else to open or build up a club.
We say thank you for the courage to dare something new. There is a hint of confidence: The location on Lagerhofstrasse has always attracted people over the past 20 years to make a club out of it. And the commercial and railway position should at least offer security not to be tensed away by new residential buildings. Accordingly, the Duqo crew is also open to new operators: inside:
