“Fear is the new faith,” Sony Pictures warns audiences with a new poster for 28 Years Later: The Bone Templethe second installment of a new trilogy that expands the dystopian universe of 28 Days Later y 28 Weeks Later.
The sequel titled in our region as Extermination: The Temple of Bonesfollows up on the events seen in this summer's successful installment, 28 Years Later.
The reason why The Bone Temple arrives so soon, it is because the filming of 28 Years Later y 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple were carried out consecutively. Three weeks after Danny Boyle production of 28 Years Later, Nia DaCosta (Hedda, Candyman, The Marvels) filming began The Bone Temple.
The complete trilogy has a script written by Alex Garlandwith Boyle's potential return as director for the third and final film.
The plot of 28 Years Later of Boyle, our takes place almost three decades after the events of the original 2002 installment. In The Bone Temple, the virus will continue to spread, showing “more bloody violence and the rise of a cult figure in an England plagued by the infected,” where it seems the biggest threat to humanity might be… humanity itself.
The Bone Temple picks up the story shortly after the events of 28 Years Laterwhich culminated with the meeting of Spike (Alfie Williams) con Sir Jimmy Crystal (Jack O’Connell) and his gang of blonde Jimmies in velvet suits.
The sequel follows Spike, whom DaCosta calls “the connecting thread” between the films, as he is forced to join Jimmy's violent cult, which is about to collide with Dr. Kelson (Ralph Fiennes) and his Alpha virus carrier, Samson (Chi Lewis-Parry), one of the figures that caught the audience's attention the most.
The Bone Temple will share with the audience more information about Dr. Kelson (Fiennes) and his dynamic with Samson, an Alpha whom he frequently sedates, but never attempts to kill. The plot It will also delve into the devastation caused by the virus in Englandexpanding the world and seeing other types of effects caused by the anger virus.
The creative poster focuses on the characters of Fiennes, O'Connell, Williams, and the aforementioned alpha zombie, Samson, who stole the show in the previous installment.
