To the surprise of many, Scream 7 will premiere in IMAX theaters.
According to the official IMAX site (screenshot available below), the slasher sequel will be released in that format, with tickets on sale not yet available.
If this is a fact, and we don't see why not, it will become the first installment of the franchise to premiere in IMAX.
It also remains to be known if the IMAX release will be available in other regions, such as Mexico. We will be attentive to the information provided by Paramount Pictures.
Scream 7 has the long-awaited return of Neve Campbell in a leading role, returning as the Scream Queen Sidney Prescott. Remembering that Campbell was absent from the sixth film due to a salary dispute.
In the new sequel, Sidney must face Ghostface once again, after the masked villain threatens what he loves most: his daughter, Tatum (played by Isabel May of 1883), whose name is a nod to Sidney's best friend in the original installment, Tatum Riley (played by Rose McGowan).
Other returning cast members include Courteney Cox like Gale Weathers, Mason Gooding y Jasmin Savoy Brown as twin brothers Mason and Mindy Meeks-Martin, their roles in Scream 5 (2022) y Scream 6 (2023), David Arquette like Dewey, Matthew Lillard (Scream) like Stu Macher and Scott Foley (Scream 3) as Roman Bridger.
In addition to May, other newcomers to the franchise are Celeste O’Connor (Freaky), Asa Germann (The Boys), Mckenna Grace (Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire), Sam Calculator (The Fabelmans), Anna Camp (Pitch Perfect), Mark Consuelos (Live with Kelly & Mark), Ethan Embry (Grace and Fankie), Michelle Randolph (Landman, 1923) y Jimmy Tatro (You’re Cordially Invited, Home Economics), y Joel McHale (Community) as Mark Evans, Sidney's husband.

SYNOPSIS:
“When a new Ghostface killer appears in the quiet town where Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) has built a new life, her worst fears come true when her daughter (Isabel May) becomes the next target. The production of Scream 7 was conducted between January and March 2025 in Atlanta, GA.

The seventh installment of the franchise Scream de Spyglass Media, marks the first time Kevin Williamson direct a movie from the franchise. Williamson wrote the screenplay for the original, and the sequels Scream 2 y Scream 4, and has been executive producer of Scream 5 y Scream 6.
The script of Scream 7 was written by Williamson y Guy Busickfrom a story of James Vanderbilt & Guy Busick (Scream 5, Scream 6).
Vanderbilt produce Scream 7 alongside William Sherak and Paul Neinstein of Project X Entertainment, executive producers Radio Silence (consisting of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett and Chad Villella), and Spyglass.
The slasher saga was launched in 1996 with the original installment Screamto later launch the sequels Scream 2 (1997), Scream 3 (2000) y Scream 4 (2011), all directed by the beloved Wes Craven, who died in August 2015 due to a brain tumor.
The franchise was relaunched in 2022 with a fifth installment titled simply Screamwhich featured the return of the original trio, Campbell, Cox and Arquette, and new directors. Its success ensured a new sequel, and in March 2023 it was released Scream VIwhich broke the record as the franchise's highest-grosser at the domestic box office with $108.1 million and more than $168 million worldwide.
The six films have a combined global box office of more than $908 million.
Paramount is planning the theatrical release of Scream 7 for him February 26, 2026 in Mexicoand the February 27 in the United States.
