Zendaya continues unstoppable.
After having one of the busiest years of his career, with the releases of The Dramathe last season of Euphoria, The Odyssey, Spider-Man: Brand New Day –and there is still the launch of Dune 3–, the actress is already eyeing her next film project.
It is a new science fiction film – without an official title at the moment – that will be written and directed by Alex Garland (Civil War, Ex Machina) to A24.
With details of the plot kept secret, it is known that filming of the film is scheduled for 2027 (via Deadline).
This project represents the most recent collaboration between Zendaya and A24, studio producing the HBO series, Euphoriaand the tragicomedy The Drama (2026), co-starring with Robert Pattinson, which became a box office success, grossing almost $135 million worldwide, against a budget of $28 million.
For Garland it marks another collaboration with A24, a studio with which he has partnered to produce and distribute Ex Machina (2014), Men (2022), Civil War (2024), Warfare (2025), and the video game adaptation, Elden Ringwith a release date scheduled for March 2028.
In addition to Ex MachinaGarland's other sci-fi projects include Annihilation (2018) and the FX miniseries, Devs (2020). Garland is also the screenwriter of the new installments of the horror franchise 28 Years Lateras well as the original delivery, 28 Days Later. After the release of the two new films, it is expected to be able to produce a third, which already has a script completed by Garland.
