Universal Pictures, Nintendo e Illumination Studios presented the final trailer from the animated sequel, The Super Mario Galaxy Movieahead of its theatrical release in April.
“Super Mario Galaxy: The Movie “It is an animated film based on the world of Super Mario Bros. and works as a sequel to Super Mario Bros. The Movie, released in 2023.”
By the way, in this new adventure, Yoshi joins Mario, Luigi and Toad, after being rescued from the Kingdom of Sands. His return was teased in the post-credits scene of The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023).
Nintendo held its fifth Nintendo Direct of 2026, dedicated to the film Super Mario Galaxywhere he showed the aforementioned latest trailer, with the inclusion of a couple of characters who debuted in the most recent poster, such as Wart, the main villain of the video game Super Mario Bros. 2, with voice of Luis Guzman (Wednesday). We also learned that Honey Queen will appear with the voice of Issa Rae (Insecure, Barbie), and Donald Glover (Atlanta) will be the one who voices Yoshi.
Returning voice actors include Chris Pratt like Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy like Princess Peach, Charlie Day like Luigi, Jack Black like Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key like Toad and Kevin Michael Richardson such as Kamek.
The new additions are Brie Larson (Captain Marvel) as Princess Rosalina, Benny Safdie (Oppenheimer) as Bowser Jr.

The music is provided by Brian Tylermaking his return as a composer.
The producers are Chris Meleandri of Illumination, and Shigeru Miyamoto of Nintendo. The film is co-financed by Universal Pictures and Nintendo, and will be released globally in theaters by Universal.
The previous delivery, The Super Mario Bros. Movierevolutionized the box office upon its release in 2023, positioning itself as the third highest-grossing animated film of all time at the global box office with $1.36 billion, behind number two, Inside Out 2 ($1,698 million), and the absolute animated champion, Ne Zha 2 ($2,150 million). The film earned a net profit of $559 million after all subsequent revenues.
The premiere of Super Mario Galaxy: The Movie is scheduled for April 1, 2026.
