Trailer for 'The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping' takes us back to Panem

Lionsgate continues to prepare the audience for the release of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reapingwhich arrives in theaters on November 20 of this year.

The new installment of the saga The Hunger Games of the director Francis Lawrencetitled The Hunger Games: Harvest Dawn in our region, presented his official full trailerin which we go back to the world of Panem.

The plot transports us to Panem, where it follows a young Haymitch Abernathy (Joseph Zada), beginning his story on the morning of the harvest of the Fiftieth Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quell of the Twenty-Five, when Haymitch was chosen as a tribute from District 12. In the original installments starring Jennifer Lawrence, the character was played by Woody Harrelson.

The prequel is based on the novel of the same name by Suzanne Collins which was published in March of this year and sold 1.5 million copies worldwide in its first week, three times more than the trilogy sold in its first week. Mockingjay.

The plot takes place in the world of Panem 40 years after the events of the prequel Ballads of Songbirds & Snakes and 24 years before the events of the saga starring Jennifer Lawrence.

Lawrence directs the script Billy Ray (The Hunger Games, Captain Phillips).

SYNOPSIS:

The plot begins on the harvest morning of the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell..

Those games are an important event in the canon since the winner was Haymitch Abernathythe only winner of District 12 before the tie of Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson). Haymitch goes on to become a mentor, a character in the original films played by Woody Harrelson.

Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson will produce the project, with Cameron MacConomy serving as executive producer.

The five films in the franchise the hunger gameshave a combined box office of more than $3.3 billion worldwide.

Lionsgate plans the theatrical release of the sixth installment for the November 20, 2026.
