“Every year, 130 million people take road trips. 15,400 of them are never seen again”.

Under that premise, NEON y Paramount Pictures they invite us not to do road trips and go to theaters to see their horror proposal: Passengerthe director's most recent film project André Øvredaldirector of The Autopsy of Jane Doe (2016) y Scary Stories to tell in the Dark (2019).

The supernatural horror thriller, titled in our region as The devil's passengerstars Oscar winner Melissa Leo (The Fighter), Lou Llobell (Foundation) y Jacob Scipio (Bad Boys for Life).

The trailer begins with two friends driving on a dark road. When one of them stops for a brief rest, their seemingly normal trip turns into a nightmare after the other's sudden disappearance. This establishes the somber tone and chilling atmosphere of the filmin which an unwanted passenger terrorizes them.

Later, we see a couple who find the car crashed, and they are now the ones being pursued by the evil entity that has been following them throughout their trip.

OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS:

“A few weeks after beginning their van adventure, a young couple witnesses a terrible accident on the highway. Soon, they realize that they did not leave the scene of the accident unscathed, as a demonic presence called the Passenger, who will not stop until he catches them both, turns their adventure on the road into a nightmare.”

Øvredal directs the script written by Zachary Donohue y T.W. Burgess.

This is Øvredal's first feature film since the release of The Last Voyage of the Demeter (2023).

The producers are Gary Dauberman and Walter Hamada, with Jenny Hinkey serving as executive producer.

NEON premieres Passenger in theaters on May 22, 2026. In our region it will be distributed by Paramount Pictures starting May 21.
