During the visit of 20th Century Studios At CinemaCon 2026, the studio shared the first trailer for the post-apocalyptic and dystopian sci-fi thriller, The Dog Starsthe most recent of Ridley Scott (Alien, The Martian).
Based on the best-selling novel by Peter Heller, the film stars Jacob Elordi (Frankenstein, Euphoria), Josh Brolin (Weapons, The Running Man) y Margaret Qualley (The Substance, How to Make a Killing).
The plot shows how a catastrophic flu devastates the world, turning survival into a constant struggle and humanity into a luxury. There, we meet Hig (Elordi), a civilian pilot who spends his days patrolling the skies and his nights trying not to be killed by scavengers.
Hig lives in a fragile, isolated peace with Bangley (Brolin), a battle-hardened military veteran who's practically a walking “No Trespassing” sign. His small, efficient fortress works perfectly. However, when a mysterious radio transmission breaks through the static, everything becomes chaotic. Despite Bangley's warnings, Hig decides to follow the signal into the unknown. They chase a small hope that there is something beyond simple earth.
The main members are accompanied by a supporting cast of top-notch talent such as Guy Pearce (The Brutalist), Benedict Wong (Weapons, Prometheus), and the Oscar winner, Allison Janey (The Diplomat, Palm Royale, I Tonya).
Scott directed the script written by Mark L. Smith (The Revenant, Overlord).

OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS:
“In a post-apocalyptic world, a virus wipes out humanity. The survivors face wandering scavengers called Reapers. The protagonist, Hig, a pilot, survived the flu but lost his wife.”
The producers are Mark L. Smith, Ridley Scott, Cliff Roberts, and Michael Pruss, with Lily Brooks-Dalton, Aidan Elliott, Peter Heller, Marco Valerio Pugini, and Brandon Scott Smith serving as executive producers.
20th Century Studios releases it in theaters August 28.
