The horror proposal, Hokumfrom the screenwriter and director Damian McCarthy (Caveat, Oddity), and the study NEONcontinues to prepare the audience for its long-awaited theatrical release, scheduled for on may 1.
McCarthy's new film delves deep into folkloric horrorwith a story that follows novelist Ohm Bauman (played by Adam Scott of Severance), who retreats to a remote inn to scatter his parents' ashes, where he is consumed by stories of a witch who haunts the bridal suite. Disturbing visions and a shocking disappearance force him to confront the darkest corners of his past.
The latest in the marketing campaign is a new official posterthis time focused on David Wilmot (Hamnet), who plays a character named Jerry, whom we saw appear briefly in one of the previews, inside the aforementioned inn, apparently trying to warn the protagonist of the dangers to come.

The cast also includes Peter Coonan (Bad Sisters), Will O’Connell (Game of Thrones), Austin Amelio (When No One See Us), y Florence Ordesh (Foundation).
NEON and Black Bear Pictures produce. is the studio behind horror genre proposals such as Longlegs, Immaculate, Cuckoo, The Monkey, Together, Shelby Oaksand the soon to be released, Passenger.

Hokum It celebrated its world premiere at the 2026 SXSW Festival last March.
It premieres in theaters May 1, 2026.
