Apple TV revealed the official trailer from his new original series, Cape Fearinspired by the 1991 remake of Martin Scorsese and produced by Steven Spielbergbetter known as scary cape in our region. Scorsese and Spielberg, by the way, are executive producers of this new adaptation of the streamer.
The psychological thriller from the creator and shwrunner Nick Antoscastars and executive produced by Amy Adams y Javier Bardem. Lots of luxury. The cast also includes Patrick Wilson(Insidious, The Conjuring), Joe Anders (Lee, 1917), Lily Collias (Roofman), Malia Pyles (Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin), y CCH Pounder (saga Avatar, NCIS: New Orleans).
In the series, a storm is brewing for happily married lawyers Anna (Adams) and Tom Bowden (Wilson) when Max Cady (Bardem), the notorious murderer they managed to put behind bars, is released from prison and seeks revenge.
The television project is described as a tense, Hitchcockian thriller of an examination of America's obsession with true crime in the 21st century.
The series is based on the novel The Executioners by John D. MacDonald, which inspired the Universal Pictures film, Cape Fear (1962), directed by J. Lee Thompson from storyboards devised by Alfred Hitchcock, like the acclaimed 1991 remake, directed by Scorsese.
It is produced by UCP (a division of Universal Studio Group) and Amblin Television.
Antosca produces alongside Alex Hedlund for Eat the Cat, while Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey produce alongside Spielberg for Amblin Television. The Oscar nominee, Morten Tyldumdirected the pilot episode and is another of the executive producers.
The series is developed and produced through Antosca's overall agreement with UCP, where it has worked since 2017.
The 10 episode miniseries will make its global debut on Friday, June 5, 2026 with the first two episodesfollowed by new episodes every Friday through July 31, 2026 on Apple TV.
