After celebrating its world premiere this week as the opening film of the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival, Bleecker Street presents the first teaser trailer of Victorian Psychostarring Maika Monroein a new horror project.
The film, set in Victorian England, tells the arrival of an eccentric governess to a remote Gothic mansionwhere strange events raise suspicions that she is not what she seems.
Zachary Wigon (Sanctuary) directs the script of Virginia Done (Mrs. March), adapted from his own novel of the same name.
In addition to Monroe, the main cast includes Thomas McKenzie (Last Night in Soho), Jason Isaacs (The White Lotus), Jacobi Skirt (Hamnet, The Exorcist), Evie Templeton (Wednesday), y Ruth Wilson (His Dark Materials).

OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS:
“In 1858, psychopathic governess Winifred Notty arrives at Ensor House to teach the children. As employees mysteriously disappear, the owners begin to suspect her true motives.”
Dan Kagan (Longlegs) produces the project with his company Traffic, together with Sebastien Raybaud (Greenland) for Anton and Wigon, in association with Anonymous Content. Executive producers are Nick Shumaker and Bard Dorros.
The project marks a new collaboration between Monroe and producer Kagan, following the making of Longlegs.
By the way, Monroe is widely considered one of the Scream Queens of contemporary horror cinema; The actress has participated in projects of the genre such as the acclaimed It Follows y Longlegs, The Guest, Tau, Watcher, Significant Otherand the remake The Hand that Rocks the Cradle. It Follows A sequel is already developing with the return of Monroe in the main role.
Bleecker Street premieres Victorian Pyscho September 25 in American cinemas.
