The existential horror thriller It Endsinvites you to enter an endless path, while presenting a fresh perspective on the time loop genre.

According to its official synopsis: “A group of teenagers goes out for a nighttime ride. Piled into a Jeep, they end up entering an endless two-lane hell, surrounded by untold horrors and inexplicable cosmic forces.”

After going out to look for food late at night, the group of friends becomes trapped on an endless highway, stalked by otherworldly horrors. Confined to their Jeep Cherokee, they must decide whether to accept their fate or try to escape.

The four characters are played by new actors unknown to the mainstream audience: Phinehas Law (Smoking Tigers), Akira Jackson (Urban Flesh Eaters), Noah Toth (Senior Prank) y Mitchell Cole (Against the Spread).

The film written and directed by Alexander Ullomwas acquired by NEON for distribution in theaters in the United States, after its presentation at the SXSW 2025 Festival where it received very positive reviews, and now close to its premiere on the big screen (August 21), it is announced that it will also has acquired distribution in cinemas in Mexico.

It will be through CANNIBAL CINEMA under the title The endwith a release date to be announced later. The studio accompanied the announcement with the first trailer for the region, which you can find at the end of the note.

After its run at SXSW, the film toured the festival circuit, which included screenings at Sitges, Overlook, Fantasia Film Fest, among others.

It Ends It is a creative and ingenious proposal of independent cinema, about what Ullom has explained is “Generation Z culture” and the experience of not really knowing how to grow and move forward, being trapped in this never-ending journey.

The time loop genre has been explored in many popular films, specifically in Groundhog Day, Palm Springs, Source Code, Coherence, The Endlessthe slasher saga Happy Death Dayand more.

The producers are Evan Barber and Carrie Carusone, while the long list of executive producers includes Chris Ferguson, producer of one of the horror hits of the year Backrooms.
