'Miami Vice '85': Camila Morrone joins the remake of 'Miami Vice'

The cast of the remake of Miami Vice from Universal Pictures and director Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick, F1: The Movie), titled Miami ’85has secured a new member: Camila Morrone.

The actress reached an agreement to join in a co-starring role Michael B. Jordan (Sinners) y Austin Butler (Elvis), as Ricardo “Rico” Tubbs and James “Sonny” Crockett, respectively. They also recently joined Alden Ehrenreich (Weapons, Oppenheimer) y Whitney Peak (Molly’s Game), Deadline reported.

Morrone starred this year in the Netflix miniseries, Something Very Bad is Going to Happenand the second season of The Night Managerplus the Prime Video miniseries Daisy Jones and the Six, and films like Valley Girl y Mickey and the Bear.

We will soon see her in the series The Age of Innocenceand later in the movie Gonzo Girl.

This new version, which adapts the classic TV series, explores the glamor and corruption of the mid-80s in Miami, and according to an official synopsis, it is “inspired by the pilot episode and first season of the landmark television series that influenced culture and shaped everything from fashion to film”.

The script was written by And Gilroy (Nightcrawler, Andor), with a previous draft of Eric Warren Singer (Top Gun: Maverick, American Hustle), based on the characters created by Anthony Yerkovich for the original series.

Dylan Clark and Kosinski are the producers of the remake.

The production of Miami Vice It is scheduled to begin later this year. It will be filmed for IMAX.

The premiere is scheduled for May 19, 2028 in cinemas.
