Paramount Pictures surprised by announcing that it has put a sequel in the works of How to Lose a Guy in 10 Daystwenty-three years after the release of the classic rom-com.

Paramount's desire is to ensure that both Hudson and Matthew McConaughey reprise their roles from the first film.
In the 2003 rom-com, directed by Donald Petrie and scripted by Kristen Buckley, Brian Regan and Burr Steers, Hudson plays a magazine journalist named Andie Anderson who ventures into research for an article she will write about modern dating. She convinces her boss that she can get a man, Benjamin Barry (McConaughey), to leave her in 10 days. Meanwhile, Benjamin, an advertising executive, bets with his boss that he can make any woman fall in love with him, choosing Andie as his target; If he wins, he will take charge of an advertising campaign for a diamond merchant.
Upon its theatrical release, How to lose a man in 10 days became a smash hit, grossing nearly $180 million at the worldwide box office. The famous yellow silk Carolina Herrera dress that Hudson wore during the film's climax scene also became a much-discussed piece of fashion in modern cinema.
