Ingredients
3 cups of milk
2 cups of sugar
1 cup of cornmeal
1/2 cup wheat flour
3 eggs
3 tablespoons of melted butter
1 tablespoon powdered yeast
1 pinch of salt
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a medium rectangular shape with butter and flour.
- In the blender, add the milk, sugar, cornmeal, wheat flour, eggs, melted butter and salt.
Beat until you get a homogeneous mass. - Add the baking powder to the dough and whisk quickly just to combine.
- Pour the dough into the greased mold and place in the preheated oven.
- Bake for approximately 40-50 minutes or until the cake is golden and firm.
Do the toothpick test: Insert a toothpick into the center of the cake and if it comes out clean, it’s done. - Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before unmolding.
