Ingredients

  • 3 cups of milk

  • 2 cups of sugar

  • 1 cup of cornmeal

  • 1/2 cup wheat flour

  • 3 eggs

  • 3 tablespoons of melted butter

  • 1 tablespoon powdered yeast

  • 1 pinch of salt

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a medium rectangular shape with butter and flour.
  • In the blender, add the milk, sugar, cornmeal, wheat flour, eggs, melted butter and salt. 
    Beat until you get a homogeneous mass.
  • Add the baking powder to the dough and whisk quickly just to combine.
  • Pour the dough into the greased mold and place in the preheated oven.
  • Bake for approximately 40-50 minutes or until the cake is golden and firm. 
    Do the toothpick test: Insert a toothpick into the center of the cake and if it comes out clean, it’s done.
  • Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before unmolding.
  • Serve the creamy cornmeal cake in slices and enjoy!
