Warner Bros. He surprised us by launching just a few moments ago the first official trailer teaser of which is in all the lists of the most anticipated of the year: Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (before Beetlejuice 2), sequel to the 1988 cult classic Tim Burton.
Burton returns to direct this new installment that features the return of its protagonists Michael Keaton, Catherine O'Haray Winona Ryderreprising their roles as Beetlejuice, Lydia Deetz, and Delia Deetz, respectively.
Additionally, the good cast signed new additions such as Jenna Ortega (Wednesday, Scream VI), Justin Theroux (The Leftovers, The Mosquito Coast), Monica Bellucci (Malena, Mafia Mom), y Willem Dafoe (Poor Things, The Northman). Ortega plays Astrid, the daughter of Lydia Deetz (Ryder), Theroux plays Rory, of whom no further details have been given, Bellucci plays Beetlejuice's wife, and Dafoe plays a B-class action star, who after his death , you become a police officer or a supernatural detective.
OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS:
“Beetlejuice is back! After an unexpected family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return to their Winter River home. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia's life is turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid, discovers the mysterious model of the city in the attic and the portal to the Afterlife is accidentally opened. With trouble in both realms, it's only a matter of time until someone says Beetlejuice's name three times and the mischievous demon returns to unleash his own kind of chaos.
The teaser, lasting less than a minute and a half, allows for quick glimpses of some of the situations mentioned in the plot description. Such is the case of seeing the Deetz family at a funeral, Astrid (Ortega) riding the bicycle in Winter River, as well as her presence in the attic that will unleash chaos with the return of Beetlejuice, who we see appear towards the end of the preview warning Lydia Deetz (Ryder) “the Juice is back.”

The pair hire a malicious spirit in Beetlejuice to drive them out. Geena Davis, Winona Ryder, Alec Baldwin, Jeffrey Jones and Catherine O'Hara starred in the film that grossed more than $75 million at the global box office (not adjusted for inflation).
Of Keaton reprising his iconic role, Burton called it “a strange out-of-body experience”:
“He just did it again. It was a little scary for someone who maybe wasn't too interested in doing it. It was such a beautiful thing for me to see the whole cast, but he, like a demonic possession, just did it again.”
Burton directs from a script by Mike Vukadinovich, with drafts by Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg. Burton, Katzenberg, and Grahame-Smith produce the feature.
Danny Elfman He also returns as composer of the original soundtrack.
WB set the premiere of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice in theaters on September 6, 2024.
