MUBI shared the official full trailer del meta-slasher Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasmafrom the screenwriter and director Jane Schoenbrun (I Saw the TV Glow), which take all your favorite slasher movie clichés and turns them on their head.
The starring Gillian Anderson (Sex Education, The Crown, The X-Files) y Hannah Einbinder (Hacks), celebrated its world premiere in recent days, in the Un Certain Regard competition at the Cannes Film Festival.
Promoted as a “new kind of horror remake”the plot follows a queer filmmaker hired to direct a new installment of a long-running horror film franchise. The director becomes obsessed with the idea of casting the “Final Girl” from the original film, and the two women fall into a frenzy of psychosexual madness.
The studio previously described her as “Portrait of a Lady on Fire set in a sequel to Friday the 13th“.
The cast also includes Zach Cherry (Severance), Jasmin Savoy Brown (Scream 7), Eva Victor (Sorry, Baby), Quintessa Swindell (Prime Target), Sarah Sherman (Saturday Night Live), Jack Haven (I Saw the TV Glow), Amanda Fix (Orphan Black: Echoes), Arthur Conti (Beetlejuice Beetlejuice), Patrick Fischler (NCIS: Origins), Dylan Baker (Hunters), y Kevin McDonald (The Kids in the Hall).

Official synopsis:
“In Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miama, the infamous Camp Miasma horror franchise is rebooted once again. But when the director of the latest film becomes obsessed with the mysterious, reclusive actress who played the “final girl” in the original film, a new kind of horror emerges from the bottom of the lake.”
This is Schoenbrun's third feature film, after We’re All Going to the World’s Fairy I Saw the TV Glowwhich, by the way, was nominated for six independent film Spirit Awards, including best film, screenplay and direction. Prior to these three projects, he directed a documentary and several short films.
Schoenbrun is in pre-production on his fourth feature film, titled Black Holewhich adapts the graphic novel by Charles Burns.
Mubi is financing the project and will handle distribution in select territories including the Americas, United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg), Turkey, India, Australia, and New Zealand. The Match Factory will handle the rest of the markets.
Plan B produces, with Daniel Bekerman of Scythia Films serving as executive producer. Alex G is in charge of the soundtrack.

Regarding his most recent project, Schoenbrun previously shared in an official statement:
“I make movies that I wish had existed in my childhood, and Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma is my best attempt at turning it into a sleepover classic: a wacky but cozy midnight odyssey that draws unsuspecting viewers from the horror section of the local video store. “I couldn't be more excited to be going to sleepover camp this summer with the genius comedian Hannah Einbinder, the legendary Gillian Anderson and the daring folks at MUBI and Plan B, who, by greenlighting this film, have summoned a plague of blood, guts and other fluids to rain down on us all.”
Prior to its theatrical release in August, the film will tour film festivals including the Sydney Film Festival, SXSW London, and Fantasia.
MUBI will premiere Adolescence, sex and death in Camp Miasma he August 7 in US theatersand the August 13 in Latin American cinemas.
