A few days after its theatrical release, the marketing campaign for the comedy Asteroid City of the filmmaker Wes Anderson continues to release promotional material, the most recent being a new advance that takes us behind the scenes in which Anderson explains the setting of the filmhow I imagined it, and what it was like to find the perfect place (in Spain!) to serve as the setting for the film whose plot with set in a fictional American desert town circa 1955.

Anderson is the filmmaker responsible for productions such as Moonrise Kingdom, The Grand Budapest Hotel, y The French Dispatch. And like the ones mentioned, Asteroid City It has an abundant cast full of stars:

Tom Hanks, Scarlett Johansson, Tilda Swinton, Edward Norton, Jason Schwartzman, Jeffrey Wright, Bryan Cranston, Adrien Brody, Liev Schreiber, Hope Davis, Stephen Park, Rupert Friend, Maya Hawke, Steve Carell, Matt Dillon, Hong Chai, Willem Dafoe, Margot Robbie, Tony Revolori, Jake Ryany Jeff Goldblum.

OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS:

“The schedule of a Junior Stargazer/Space Cadet convention (organized to bring together students and parents from across the country for scholarships and academic competition) is spectacularly interrupted by world-changing events.”

The script was written by Anderson together with Roman Coppola, his frequent collaborator. In addition to directing and writing, Anderson produces the feature with Steven Rales and Jeremy Dawson.

Focus Features is the distributor in the domestic market, which set the limited release of Asteroid City for June 16, 2023, and a wide release on June 23.

In other markets, including Mexico and the rest of Latin America, it will be distributed via Universal Pictures.
