There is already a new James Bond. After some time in the search for the new undercover agent with a license to kill, sources report to the British media The Sun, which Aaron Taylor-Johnson has received a “formal proposal” from producers and the studio to be the next to characterize the famous agent 007, after the departure of Daniel Craig from the franchise.

The actor is expected to accept the proposal quickly, since filming of the next installment, number 26, is planned to begin later this year. The source reveals:

“Bond is Aaron's job, in case you want to take it on. The formal offer is on the table and they are waiting for a response.

“As far as Eon [EON Productions]Aaron will sign his contract in the next few days and you can start preparing for the big announcement.”

It was previously reported that Taylor-Johnson had met with the producers of the saga, and that said meeting had gone “very well,” putting him in the running to take on the role as Bond, which also included actors like Cillian Murphy. and Henry Cavill.

The producers of James Bond were searching for an actor in his 30s who could commit to the role for at least a decade and thus reinvent the franchise once again. Taylor-Johnson is 33 years old.

Taylor-Johnson is recognized for being part of projects such as Kick-Ass, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Savages, Godzilla, Nocturnal Animals –for which he won the Golden Globe for best supporting actor– Tenet, Bullet Trainand the soon to be released, The Fall Guy.
