Grand Finale

– Sat 9 Feb 2013, 7.30pm – Nelson Cathedral

John Psathas’ mesmerizing Abisheka, inspired by the writings of Chogyam Trungpa and played round the world by the New Zealand String Quartet, is followed by Straussian elegance and sophistication in “Capriccio”, an interlude from his opera of that name . The Penderecki String Quartet presents the NZ premiere of Greek/Canadian composer Hatzis’ String Quartet, which has become an audience favourite in Canada. Then a blockbuster Mendelssohn to finsh.
