The first season, which consists of ten episodes, aired on the streamer from November 2023 to January of this year, and many of us were wondering when an inevitable second season would be released.

Well, Apple TV+ has made it official and has ordered a second season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. And that's not all.

In addition to the renewal, it was announced that the streamer reached a new multi-series deal with Legendary Entertainment, including multiple spinoff series based on the franchise. So there will be MonsterVerse for a while (via Apple TV+).

Legacy Of Monsters revolves primarily around Monarch, the shady organization linked to all Titan activity on Earth. The project features considerable kaiju action, something that has served as a great large-scale accompaniment to MonsterVerse film projects.

This cinematographic universe started in 2014, consisting of the films Godzilla (2014), Kong: Skull Island (2017), Godzilla: The King of the Monsters (2019), Godzilla vs Kong (2020), and the one that is in theaters right now, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.

The cast of the series is headed by Kurt Russell (Fast & Furious 9, The Thing) and his son Wyatt Russell (Overlord) playing the same character, army officer Lee Shaw, in different time periods. They accompany them Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watanabe, Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, Joe Tippetty Elisa Lasowski.

Chris Black is the creator of Monarch: Legacy of Monsterswho also developed it together with Matt Fraction. Among the directors involved in the series are Matt Shakman (WandaVision), y Julian Holmes (The Boys, Daredevil, Carnival Row).

The second season will feature Black and Fraction as showrunners, co-creators and executive producers. Other executive producers include Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell, Shakman, Andrew Colville and Jen Roskind. Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita are executive producers on behalf of Toho Co. Ltd., the owners of the Godzilla character.

SYNOPSIS:

“The clues lead them into the world of monsters and eventually down the rabbit hole to army officer Lee Shaw (played by Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell), which takes place in the 1950s and half a century later, where Monarch is threatened by what Shaw knows.
