The Apple Original miniseries, The Savantwill finally see the light.
After several twists and turns, Apple TV has set the premiere of the suspense miniseries starring the Oscar winner, Jessica Chastain.
A year after the platform postponed the launch of The Savant —three days before its debut scheduled for September 26, 2025— Apple TV reschedules its premiere for spring 2027 (the spring of the northern hemisphere). The exact date is still being finalized according to reports from Deadline.
To have a little context, we tell you that the last minute decision to withdraw The Savant of the programming was due to plot themes that include the appearance of a sniper in action, a bomb attack on a government building, among other acts of violence; continuing with the original release date was considered by Apple TV as a problem because it could end up being “a trigger after the murder of right-wing political activist Charlie Kirk”, which occurred on September 10, 2025.
In those instances, a spokesperson for the streamer reported that, “After careful consideration, we have decided to postpone The Savant. We appreciate your understanding and we hope to release the series soon.”.
The Savant: The specialistdue to its title in our region, focuses its plot on Jodi Goodwin, the character played by Chastain, who by day is an ordinary mother, while at night, Jodi discovers the darkest corners of the Internet as undercover investigator (and veteran) employee of the Anti-Hate Alliance, which infiltrates online hate groups in an effort to stop domestic extremists before they act.
The Savant is inspired by a 2019 Cosmopolitan story, “Is it possible to stop a mass shooting before it happens?”from the author Andrea Stanleywho served as a consultant for the series. The story is based on the real woman profiled in the Cosmo story, but carefully conceals her identity.
Melissa James Gibson (Anatomy of a Scandal, The Americans) is the main screenwriter, and the executive producer.

Other executive producers include Freckle Films' Chastain and Kelly Carmichael, Alan Poul, Matthew Heineman, David Levine, and Garrett Kemble.
Heineman is the director.
The rest of the cast includes James Badge Dale (Hightown, 1923), Nnamdi Asomugha (The Knife, The Good Nurse), Cole Doman (Gossip Girl), Jordana Spiro (Ozark, Fear Street), Trinity Lee Shirley, Toussaint Francois Battiste, y Pablo Schreiber (Orange is the New Black, Halo).
