With more than 70 movies and series in his filmography, Arnold Schwarzenegger is and will be mainly remembered for the saga Terminator of James Cameron, of which he has been a part since its origin in The Terminator (1984), and even the most recent sequel, Terminator: Dark Fate (2019).
We also remember that his cameo in Terminator Salvation (2009) was created with CGI because Arnold was serving as Governor of California at the time, but the actor took leading roles again in Genisys (2015) and the aforementioned Dark Fatethough sadly both films received overwhelming reviews and did not do well at the box office.
Terminator It would probably be one of the franchises that would benefit from the implementation of a reboot, and when that happens -because it will happen at some point- they will not have Schwarzenegger’s T-800.
In an interview with THR, Schwarzenegger comments:
“The franchise is not finished. I have finished.”
“I got the message loud and clear that the world wants to move on with a different issue when it comes to The Terminator.. Someone has to come up with a great idea. The Terminator was largely responsible for my success, which is why I always looked at it very fondly.”
“The first three movies were great. Number four [Salvación] I was not there because I was governor. then five [Genisys] And six [Dark Fate] They didn’t close the deal as far as I’m concerned. We knew that beforehand because they just weren’t well written.”
