“Something is approaching.”

After the release of several teasers, Marvel Studios started the week by sharing the first official trailer for Avengers: Doomsdaythe next installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, directed by brothers Anthony Russo and Joe Russo.

The advance also makes official the start of pre-sales in the United States, including the functions in Infinity Vision, a new certification for large format movie theaters launched by The Walt Disney Company, which in simpler words, seeks to be the competition for IMAX.

Doomsday follows Marvel superheroes from three different universes as they are forced to confront an unprecedented existential threat: Doctor Doom (Robert Downey Jr.).

“Something is coming, something we may not be able to stop. Before the day is out, we must make an inconceivable decision,” utters Downey Jr.'s Doom. Later, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) brings together the Avengers, Fantastic Four (only with the absence of the X-Men who appear at other times in the trailer) to warn them about the arrival of the most powerful villain they have ever faced (yes, even more than Thanos and the six infinity stones). That power is made clear in a scene that will make more than one's hair stand on end, with the God of Thunder attacking Doom with his Stormbreaker, while Doom stops the attack of the mythical ax using only two fingers.

Thor explains that they will need a miracle to get out of this, when none other than Steve Rogers (Chris Evans). An astonished Thor does not believe who is before his eyes, and subjects him to his greatest test: taking Mjölnir, the legendary Nordic weapon that only he who is worthy of carrying it can lift it.
