News continues to emerge around the cast of the film Ballerinaspinoff of the action franchise John Wickwhich is currently in the active stage of filming in Prague.

The most recent addition to the cast confirms the return of a familiar face: Lance Reddick in his cabbage as Charon, the concierge of the Continental Hotel. Reddick has appeared in John Wick (2014), John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017), y John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (2019), in addition, he will appear in the upcoming sequel, John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023).

Producer Erica Lee comments in a statement to the media the following (via ComicBook):

“Charon is an indispensable part of the world of Wick. It’s great to know that Lance will continue to make his mark on this franchise.”

Reddick is the protagonist of the spinoff, Ana de Armasand the others announced to resume their roles, Keanu Reeves like John Wick, Ian McShane like Winston, the manager of the Continental Hotel, and Anjelica Huston como The Director, encArgada of the Ruska Roma crime organization that trains ballerinas at the same facility where Wick trained as an assassin.

“Ballerina focuses on a young murderer seeking revenge against the people who killed her family.”

Ballerina is directed by Len Wiseman (Underworld, Live Free or Die Hard and the reboot Total Recalland on TV episodes like Sleepy Hollow, Lucifer, The Gifted y Swamp Thing). The script is in charge of Shay Hatten (John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, Army of the Dead).

Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee and Chad Stahelski (director of the saga John Wick) produce the spinoff. Reeves executive produces with Kaley Smalley of Wiseman’s Sketch Films. Lionsgate’s James Myers is supervising for the studio.

Parabellum it became Lionsgate’s highest-grossing release in more than five years, grossing $323 million globally. The franchise made up of John Wick, John Wick: Chapter Two y Parabellumadd up to more than $580 million dollars worldwide.

In addition to the spinoff, the cinematographic universe of the Lionsgate saga will expand to the small screen with the prequel series The Continental.
