This simple yet elegant dressing blends the deep, slightly sweet acidity of balsamic vinegar with the richness of oil to create a versatile, restaurant-quality finish. It’s quick to make and adds a gourmet touch to everyday meals.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar

  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

  • 1 teaspoon honey (or maple syrup)

  • 1 small garlic clove, minced

  • Salt, to taste

  • Black pepper, to taste

Directions

  • In a small bowl or jar, combine the balsamic vinegar, Dijon mustard, honey, and minced garlic.
  • Slowly drizzle in the olive oil while whisking continuously (or shake in a sealed jar) until the dressing is well emulsified.
  • Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  • Taste and adjust sweetness or acidity if needed.
  • Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Shake well before using.
