Lionsgate y Roadside Atrractions revealed the first official trailer for the action thriller, Boy Kills Worldfrom the producers Sam Raimi (Evil Dead, Don’t Breathe, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness) y Roy Lee (IT, Doctor Sleep).
The project, which they acquired directly from TIFF's Midnight Madness, stars Bill Skarsgård (IT, Barbarian) as Boy, a deaf with an incredible imagination, who goes in search of revenge after the murder of his family at the expense of Hilda Van Derk Koy (Miss Janssen), the deranged matriarch of a corrupt post-apocalyptic dynasty that left the child orphaned, deaf and voiceless.
Boy Kills World is directed by Moritz Mohr from the script of Arend Remmers (Sløborn) y Tyler Burton Smith (Kung Fury: The Movie).
The rest of the cast is made up Michelle Dockery (Downton Abbey, Defending Jacob), Jessica Rothe (Happy Death Day, La La Land), Sharlto Copley (District 9, Beast), Isaiah Mustafa (IT: Chapter Two, Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments), Andrew Who (Snake Eyes), and the twins Cameron y Nicholas Crovetti (Goodnight Mommy, Big Little Lies).
The feature film is described as a “one-of-a-kind action spectacle, set in a dreamlike, dystopian and feverish reality.”
SYNOPSIS:
“Boy (Bill Skarsgård) is a deaf with a vibrant imagination. When his family is murdered, Boy escapes into the jungle and is trained by a mysterious shaman to repress his childhood imagination and become an instrument of death.
The Motion Picture Association (MPA) awarded him the Rated R by:
“Strong bloody violence and gore throughout, language, some drug use and sexual references.”
In addition to Raimi and Lee, producers also include Simon Swart, Alex Lebovici, Stuart Manashil, Wayne Fitzjohn, Zainab Azizi, and Dan Kagan. Executive producers include Sipho Nkosi, Mxolisi Mgojo, Humphrey Mathe, Reza Brojerdi, Christian Mercuri, Mohr and Andrew Childs.
Boy Kills World will be released in theaters on April 26, 2024.
