1 medium cabbage, green or purple (about 1 kg)
2 medium carrots, grated
1 red onion, finely sliced ​​(optional)
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons white or apple cider vinegar
2 teaspoons of sugar
Salt and black pepper to taste
Directions
- Start by washing the cabbage well.Â
Remove outer sheets that may be damaged or dirty.Â
Cut the cabbage in half and remove the hard core. - Slice the cabbage into thin strips.Â
You can do this with a sharp knife or use a food processor with a slicing attachment. - In a large bowl, place the sliced ​​cabbage and grated carrots.Â
If using red onion, add that too. - In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, vinegar, sugar, salt and pepper.Â
Mix well until you get a homogeneous sauce. - Pour the sauce over the vegetables in the large bowl.
- Use two salad spoons or a pair of tongs to mix the vegetables and dressing well, making sure all ingredients are covered with the dressing.
- Taste the salad and adjust the seasoning, adding more salt, pepper or sugar as needed.
