Carla Gugino is lurking in teaser for ‘The Fall of the House of Usher’ – Cine3.com

“She’s coming for them all.”

In a very few days the supernatural limited series will premiere, The Fall of the House of Usherthe most recent of Mike Flanagan with Netflix, which is why the streamer continues to reveal promotional material for the television project that adapts the classic short story by Edgar Allan Poe, and other of his works such as The Raven.

The most recent is a teaser trailer focused on the character played by Carla Guginoactress who has collaborated with Flanagan on Gerald’s Gameand the series The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor, Midnight Mass, and who previously described Flanagan’s latest as: “Crazy in the best way possible. She has quite a bit of black humor, but it also touches the soul.”

Many have wondered what Gugino’s role will be. It has been confirmed that the actress plays Verna, a demonic entity with supernatural powers with the ability to take many forms, including ghosts that will haunt the rest of the characters.

The character of Verna is not specifically taken from any of Poe’s works, but acts as an anagram of Poe’s most famous narrative poem, “The Raven.” Verna’s goal is to act as a violent strike of justice against the seemingly corrupt pharmaceutical empire of two siblings, Roderick and Madeline Usher, punishing the heirs of the Usher dynasty for the wrongdoings of their family empire.

Flanagan’s miniseries will premiere on October 12, 2023 on the streamer. Its title in Latin American territory is The Fall of the House of Usher.

“In this diabolical series by Mike Flanagan (“The Haunting of Hill House”), based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe, ruthless siblings Roderick and Madeline Usher turned their business Fortunato Pharmaceuticals into an empire of wealth, privilege and power. But the secrets of the past come to light when the heirs of the Usher dynasty begin to die at the hands of a mysterious woman they knew in their youth.

The cast is led by Gugino, Bruce Greenwood as Roderick Usher, patriarch of the Usher dynasty, Mary McDonnell y Carl Lumbly. Con Saurian Sapkota in the role of Prospero Usher, Rahul Kohli as Napoleon Usher, Samantha Sloyan like Tamerlane Usher, Mark Hamill as Arthur Pym.
