Ingredients
500 g (1 lb) chicken breast, sliced into strips
2 tbsp olive oil or butter
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
250 g (9 oz) mushrooms, sliced
1 tbsp flour
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp Dijon mustard
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Optional: paprika or parsley for garnish
Directions
- Heat oil or butter in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add chicken strips, season with salt and pepper, and cook until lightly golden. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, sauté onion until soft, then add garlic and mushrooms. Cook until mushrooms release moisture and brown slightly.
- Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir well. Cook for 1 minute.
- Slowly pour in chicken broth, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens.
- Reduce heat and stir in sour cream and Dijon mustard.
- Return chicken to the pan and simmer gently for 5 minutes until fully cooked and creamy.
- Taste and adjust seasoning. Garnish if desired and serve hot.
