In promotional tour of the series Limitless from Disney+, Chris Hemsworth revealed that he plans to take a fair amount of time off once his commitment to promoting the series wraps up.
In case you are not aware, we tell you that in the fifth episode of the series in question, Hemsworth meets with a doctor and it is revealed that the actor has a genetic predisposition to Alzheimer’s disease.

According to Vanity Fair reports:
“Your makeup includes two copies of the APOE4 gene, one from your mother and one from your father, which studies have linked to an increased risk of Alzheimer’s disease.”
What does it mean? That Hemsworth is now eight to ten times more likely to develop the disease. The actor’s grandfather is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.
“I’m not sure he actually remembers much else, and he speaks in and out of Dutch, which is his original language. will be talking [en] Dutch and English and then a mix and then maybe some other new words too.”
Regarding his own diagnosis, Hemsworth commented:
“It is not a predeterministic gene, but it is a strong indication. Ten years ago, I think it was considered more decisive.”
In the final chapter of the docuseries, Hemsworth is reunited with a doula. Both this and the rest of the experiences lived on the set of Limitlessled to his inspiration to take a break from acting.
“It really triggered something in me that wanted to take some time off. And since we finished the show, I’ve been completing the things that I was already contracted to do. Now when I finish this tour this week I’m going to go home and have a fair amount of free time and just simplify. Being with the children, being with my wife”.
The actor also reveals that Disney offered him to issue a version of Limitless that eliminated his diagnosis, but he was determined to leave it in the final cut:
“Look, if this is a motivator for people to take better care of themselves and also understand that there are steps they can take, then great. My concern was that I just didn’t want to manipulate it and over-dramatize it, and turn it into some kind of empathy hogwash or whatever to entertain.”
Hemsworth has already finished filming the movies Extraction 2and the prequel de Mad Max: Fury Road, Angry.
