Dermot Mulroney details that his ‘Scream 6’ character has a connection to Ghostface – Cine3.com

Dermot Mulroney, actor best known for his roles in rom-coms, primarily My Best Friend’s Weddinghas had interventions in genre film projects such as Stoker, Careful What You Wish For, Insidious: Chapter 3, the Serie The Purgeand more recently, Ummay right now he is filming the next sequel to the slasher saga Screamcurrently titled Scream 6.

With filming underway, Mulroney confirms what was previously announced, that he is playing a cop in the sixth installment of the horror franchise, but also talks about having a connection to Ghostface.

In an interview with Screenrant, the actor comments:

“Yes, I play a policemanso eventually I get asked to play cops here and there, this is one of them. I guess I shouldn’t say my daughter is one of the victims.…

“But I don’t have to describe how or in what way, so that’s what draws me to the story, the strong family ties.“.

The shooting of Scream 6 from Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Media, began the second week of June 2022, on location in Montreal, Canada, thus becoming the first film in the franchise to be shot outside of the United States.

The sequel has on board the return of Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding y Jenna Ortega reprising their roles as Sam Carpenter, twins Mindy and Chad Meeks-Martin, and Tara Carpenter, respectively.

They will also be Jack Champion (Avatar: The Way of Water), Liana Liberato (The Best of Me), Nine Nekoda (Ginny & Georgia), y Josh Segarra (She-Hulk, Arrow), Henry Czerny (Ready Or Not, Mission: Impossible), Tony Revoli (Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: No Way Home), y Samara Weaving (Ready or Not, The Babysitter).

Also, the audience favorite from Scream 4 will return, Hayden Panettiere like Kirby Reed, while Dermot Mulroney he will be playing a policeman. Courteney Cox reprises her role as Gale Weathers. And as you may already be aware, Neve Campbell turned down return to Scream 6 due to pay disputealthough recently the rumor began to spread that the actress will be back, something that was denied by Campbell herself.

The script is in charge of James Vanderbilt y Guy Busickco-writers of Scream 5. Kevin Williamsonscreenwriter of the original saga, and Chad Villella of Radio Silence, return as executive producers alongside Peter Oillataguerre, and Spyglass’s Gary Barber, and Ron Lynch, Cathy Konrad, and Marianne Maddalena. Vanderbilt, Paul Neinstein, and Project X’s William Sherak are producing.

The five installments of the slasher saga have so far collected more than $744 million dollars in the global box office.

The studies established the theatrical release date Scream 6 for March 31, 2023.
