Much has been said about the plans of the co-creator of The Office, Greg Daniels, to launch a reboot of his iconic sitcom. However, after many twists and turns, Daniels revealed last November that he was interested in making a series within the same universe of The Officebut not a reboot of it.

The most recent news announces that the comedy series from the same universe of The Office is making important progress. First, it will be co-created by Daniels y Michael Koman (Saturday Night Live, Girls5Eva), and second, we already have the first two signings.

The source reminds us that in recent months, Daniels opened a development room to explore ideas for a sequel series to The Office. The potential new series, which is not a reboot, is said to be set in a new office with new characters, but will live in the same world as the mockumentary series starring Steve Carell which follows the employees of the fictional Dunder Mifflin paper company branch in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Daniels has indicated that a new version of The Office I could follow a team making a documentary on a different topic.
