Since 2019, AMC Networks launched the development of the series Orphan Black: Echoespromoted as a sequel series, though not a direct sequel, to the drama Orphan Blackalthough it is set in the same universe.
The television project, which will be premiering this year on AMC+ and AMC Networks, released a handful of promotional images from Echoescelebrating ten years since the launch of the original series Orphan Blackwhere we can take a look at the protagonists of the story, Kristen Ritter (Jessica Jones), Keeley Hawes (Line of Duty, It’s a Sin), y Avan Jogi (Zombieland: Double Tap). And although we do not see her present in the images, Amanda Fix (High School, North of Normal) is also part of the cast.

THE HISTORY
The Serie will delve into the exploration of the scientific manipulation of human existence.
The first season of 10 episodes, is set in the near future:
“Follow a group of women as they make their way into each other’s lives and embark on an exciting journey, unraveling the mystery of their identity and uncovering a heartbreaking story of love and betrayal.”
CHARACTERS
Ritterwho will also serve as executive producer, will play Lucy, a woman with an unimaginable origin story, trying to find her place in the world.. In addition to her lead role in Jessica Jonesthe actress’ previous television credits include Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23, Veronica Marsy Breaking Bad. Ritter returns to AMC for the first time since his role at BB.
Fix will play Jules, a teenager trying to find herself. The newly adopted daughter of wealthy parents, Jules is tough as nails, a little reckless but brutally smart.
Jogia will play Lucy’s (Ritter) boyfriend Jack, a soft-spoken former military medic and single father. He has dedicated his life to raising his daughter and discovers that the woman he loves holds an unimaginable secret.
THE TEAM BEHIND THE SCENES
Echoes is produced and distributed globally by Boat Rocker, the same production company as the original series.
Anna Fishko is the creator, writer, showrunner, and executive producer of Orphan Black: Echoes con John Fawcett, the co-creator of the original series, as director and executive producer. David Fortier and Ivan Schneeberg, executive producers of Boat Rocker in the original series, return as executive producers. Katie O’Connell Marsh, Nick Nantell and Kerry Appleyard are also executive producers of Boat Rocker.
Orphan Black drew the attention of critics and audiences for the memorable performances of Tatiana Maslany. The series, broadcast from 2013 to 2017, concluded its fifth and final season in August 2017. The science fiction drama centered its plot on Sarah Manning (Maslany), an orphaned woman who witnesses the suicide of a woman identical to her, later revealed as one of his clones. Manning assumes the identity of the deceased, which leads him to discover the beginning of an all-consuming conspiracy aimed at murdering her and her clone sisters.
Maslany has portrayed at least ten different characters in the story in highly versatile ways, being recognized with the Emmy for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series in 2016. She has also received Golden Globe, SAG and two other Emmy nominations. The series had such a loyal fan base, dubbed the #CloneClub, that when the show ended, it continued in a new medium with the podcast. Orphan Black: The Next Chapter.
